PINGUY OS 14.04 has been released

After the Mini PINGUY OS 14.04 version was revealed about two weeks ago, now comes Full distribution edition, a beautiful distro based on Ubuntu brings many of the useful customizations to the final user and applications.

Pinguy OS interface uses GNOME Shell 3.10 by default, which is customized by many additions such as : Gno-Menu, Media Player Indicator, Top Icons and other ...

Each distribution contains a large amount of applications , making it a convenient option for those who do not like to spend the time to install applications or customization.

What are the main changes in PINGUY OS 14.04 LTS?

- Neflix is installed .
- Add several useful scripts that allow you to run torrent files in Firefox and view videos by VLC.
- Enable TRIM system which speed up SSD.
- Liquid Prompt is been used as terminal in GNOME .
- Scripts Have been added for the ability to backup to data and It is based on TestDisk.

In addition, many software and other useful additions such as the TLP program , which provides power , and accelerate the take-off applications and synchronize Profile , program and Plex Media Center , which replaced the XBMC.

GNOME Shell customizations 

We mentioned that Pinguy OS uses version 3.10 of the GNOME Shell , and also bar the Docky It is used as a bar functions \ absolute applications , and there is also a bar on the left disappears automatically, which allows quick access to your folders .

For a list of the Supreme , they are used add Gno-menu, and the distribution interface designed to be simple and intuitive and tidy ; angles as hot ( or shiny ) disabled by default , but you can activate them.

Pinguy OS uses a lot of add-ons that facilitate your work with the interface, and uses the Zukitwo theme with Faience Azur Icons and Faience feature limits and window frames , and Zukitwo-Light feature layer shell, in addition to many of the features installed by default , that can be changed.

Firefox 29, Thunderbird 24.5, LibreOffice 4.2.3, Clementine 1.2.3, Steam, Skype 4.2.0.11, VLC 2.1.5, Empathy 3.10.3, Deluge 1.3.6, Calibre 1.36.0, Plex Mediaserver 0.9.9.7.429 and Plex Home Theater 1.0.13.222, Spotify 0.9.4.183, GNOME Tweak Tool 3.10.1 and Ubuntu Software Center 13.10, among others, on top of GTK 3.10.8 and GNOME Shell 3.10.4.

Pinguy OS rerview

Pinguy OS is an Ubuntu-based distribution, which aims to be more easy and user-friendly for new comers to Linux, It comes with lot of enhancement features in order to target numerous beginners.

Once It is installed, out-of-the-box supports  multimedia codecs and browser plugins, and It comes with a good selection of common applications with tweaked Gnome user interface with enhanced menus, panels and dockbars.
