You all know that the problem of intermittent letters on Flash player under Linux is one of the most troubling problems for users, especially for those who deal frequently with the websites where the flash is used, today we will explain to you how to solve this problem on the Linux environment and the Firefox browser.

What do now is to install a special version of Flash of Windows on Ubuntu and the latest version via the package provided by the site Webupd8 to this matter, on Ubuntu and derivatives of Ubuntu by these commands :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install freshplayerplugin

For other distributions, download this file libfreshwrapper.so from this link for 32-bit distributions, and here's for 64-bit, and put it in the folder /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ .

Now if we opened Firefox and went to any website that uses flash, the following problem will appear to us :

Failled to load

We need to an extension named Pepper Flash to complete the solution, we can get it by simply downloading the Google Chrome browser from this link and installing it, then re-open any website that has Flash from Firefox browser, and Enjoy :)

Firefox 29 is completely different

Mozilla released version 29 of famous browser, Firefox, and with significant changes, most notably the new interface and I totally enjoyed the simplicity and beauty, as well the support of synchronization through a special account , instead of the other changes.

The first thing you will notice in Firefox 29 is the new interface called Australis UI and as you can see they use tabs with the edges of the circular curved and the change in the overall design of the bar icons and locations, and a new list for the allocation of symbols and icons on the tape that allows you to arrange your browser and customize it however you like.

firefox open menu

firefox customize

The addition bar "addon bar" also has been removed   ( and transferred its contents to the navigation bar), and were integrated favorite icon with button labels you have stored and transported to the right of the search bar , in addition to the button " move forward " disappears automatically when it is not needed .

firefox open menu

This has added the ability to synchronize Firefox , bookmarks , and history , passwords.. easily , using a special account ( such as Chrome \ Chromium ) by creating Firefox account, instead of internal improvements in many other browser.

Firefox consumes a lot of memory - the solution is here

Sometimes Firefox consumes a lot of RAM, more than it needs . and this makes computer slow and freezing . This article explains how to solve this problem, in other words, making Firefox consumes a bit of RAM

1 - Update Firefox to the latest version

Of course later versions contain many developments , including fixes of bugs and  improvement of consumption of less memory.

To get the latest version of Firefox from here

2 - extensions and themes

Extensions and themes may make Firefox consumes a lot of RAM

To make sure that I'm right, open Firefox in "Safe Mode" , you will notice a difference in the consumption of resources and because in "Safe Mode" themes and extensions are disabled.

The idea that I want to explain here, is that we can disable some extensions or themes that consume lot of resources.

firefox safe mode

Some websites contains some unnecessary scripts and ADS which again consumes a lot of resources.

Here, are extensions that prevent the functioning of what we have said before.

Adblock Plus ===> prevent the appearance of ads.

Flashblock ===> disrupt the functioning of flash files , you can run it when you want by clicking a button appearing in the middle of the flash file.

No Script ===> disrupt the functioning of unnecessary scripts.

3 - extensions

Extensions which are not appropriate with the release of Firefox , especially older ones can cause in consumption largest amount of RAM.

Update your firefox Add ons.

Disable Add Ons that cause excessive consumption of Memory.

By going to tools >> Add-on

Firefox extensions

And disable them, those that consume more resources than they should.

Do not forget to close Firefox and reopen it after the operation in order to notice the difference.

4 - Check the option "Use hardware acceleration when available"

By Going to this Path.

Edit >> Preferences >> Advanced >> General

firefox hardware aceleration

5 - Restart Firefox

Opening and closing Firefox , especially after a long period of using it has a clear impact in putting an end to bad consumption of  resources.

6 - The use of a small number of Tabs

7 - Tools of Memory Troubleshooting

about: memory is a page that allows you to see the consumption of resources by the web pages.

And pressing the button "Minimize memory usage" at the top right of the page may reduce the consumption of resources.

Tools of Memory Troubleshooting

RAMBack is an extension that will help you to empty the memory.

New Flash Player from Mozilla , based on HTML5

New Flash Player from Mozilla , based on HTML5

Shumway is a new project from Mozilla projects aimed to develop the Web and make it more open , the idea of the project is simply playing SWF files for free, an open- source and written on HTML5 and Javascript.

It is still under development where Mozilla announced it in November 2012 , it is currently available only as an extension for Firefox ( and frankly did not know how to use it , although this still needs the flash to be used) , in Firefox 27 it exists , but not enabled by default and you can activate it from about: config

In any case, you can visit the project website and try some examples, such as a game of racing , or you can download the source from this link , do you think it would be an alternative to the Flash Player in the future?
