Hello Amigurumi Lovers…

One of the free amigurumi crochet patterns we will share today is the amigurumi little gingerbread man, whose photos and design belong to Heike Steffens. Materials

Yarn Ricorumi (or similar): brown, red, green, and white.
Safety eyes: 7.0 mm
Black embroidery thread
Crochet hook size: 2.5 mm
Fiberfill
Sewing needle

Amigurumi Gingerbread Man Free Pattern

Arms (2X)

Colors: brown and white.
Start with the brown yarn. Don’t stuff with fiberfill.

R1. 6 sc in MR [6]
R2. (1sc, 1inc)*3 [9]
R3-4. 9 sc (2 rnds) [9]
Color change to white. Don’t cut the brown yarn.
R5-6. 9 sc (2 rnds) [9]
Color change to brown. Cut the white yarn and sew it.
R7-10. 9 sc (4 rnds) [9]
Press the opening together and crochet together with 4 sc.
Cut the yarn and sew it. The arms will later be crocheted directly onto the body.

Legs (2X)

Colors: brown and white.
Start with the brown yarn.

R1. 6 sc in MR [6]
R2. (inc)*6 [12]
R3. 12 sc [12]
Color change to white. Don’t cut the brown yarn.
R4-5. 12 sc (2 rnds) [12]
Color change to brown. Cut the white yarn and sew it.
R6. 12 sc [12]
1st leg: cut the yarn and sew it.
2nd leg: don’t cut the yarn, we will continue with the connection between the legs.

Join Legs

Crochet 2 ch on the 2nd leg and join chain with 1 sc on the inside of the 1st leg.
Place here the stitch marker – this is the new beginning of the rnds. The start of the rnds is at the back.

Body

Color: brown.

In rnd 20 the arms are crocheted in. Make sure that the arms are symmetrically at the sides of the body. Work them in with 4 sc each.

Head

Color: brown.
From now on fill the body and the head continuously with fiberfill.

Attach the safety eyes between rnd 26 and 27 with a distance of approx. 5 visible stitches.

Cut the yarn long and thread it through the front loops of the last stitches and pull the opening close.
Embroider the nose with the brown thread between rnd 25 and 26.

Frosting Cap

Color: white.

Join the rnd with 1 slst, cut the yarn leaving a long tail.
Sew the cap onto the figure’s head using the tail you just left.

Leaves (3X)

Color: green.

Start with 5 ch + 1 tch and start from the 2nd ch from the hook:
1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc + 1 tch
Turn the work and continue crocheting on the other side of chain:
1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 ch
Join the rnd with a slst, cut the yarn leaving a long tail.
Sew the leaves onto the cap using the tail you just left.

Berry

Color: red.

R1. 6 sc in MR [6]
R2. (inc)*6 [12]
R3-4. 12 sc (2 rnds) [12]
Stuff the berry with fiberfill.
R5. (dec)*6 [12]
Cut the yarn long and thread it through the front loops of the last 6 stitches and pull the opening close.
Sew the berry onto the cap, in the center of the leaves.

Face

Embroider the mouth with the black embroidery thread between rnd 23 and 24 over a width of 3 stitches.
Use the red yarn to embroider small cheeks below the eyes (between rnds 24 and 25 over a width of 2 stitches each).

Buttons (2X)

Color: green.

Crochet 6 sc into a MR for one button. Finish the rnd with 1 slst in the 1st and cut the thread long.
Tighten the opening with the beginning of the yarn and sew the beginning of the yarn.
Sew the buttons onto the belly with the end of the thread.
