Do not cut the thread, we will tie the wing. Take a thin wire the size is slightly larger than the wing (approximately 10cm, excess cut off). Wrap the end with adhesive tape. Not very thick, otherwise, it will be difficult to hide with threads. Attach the wire to the wing and tie sc only to the upper part of the wing. The wire end wrapped should not look out with a band-aid, move it a little closer to the middle wings (see photo). Cut the thread leaving a long end. Neatly trim with a thread those places where the adhesive plaster is noticeable. Fasten the thread and crop.
Similarly, knit the second wing. Note: We tie the wire on the second wing on the other side, so you don’t get two right or two left wings. Be guided by your wings.
Eardrums on Wings
We knit the membranes with yellow yarn on the back of the wings, in those places where the increases were. Do not tighten the hinges so that the wing does not contract. Insert the hook to the very top of the wing and put the loop on the side where there will be membranes. Insert the hook with the loop again into the same loop and pull a row below, grab the thread and knit sc. Knit this way until the bottom. Cut and fasten the thread.
Similarly, knit the remaining 3 membranes.
Tummy
We start knitting with white yarn.
- 1 row: 6 sc in mc (6)
- 2 row: 6 inc (12)
- 3 row: (1 sc, inc) * 6 (18)
- 4 row: (2 sc, inc) * 6 (24)
- 5 row: (3 sc, inc) * 6 (30)
Change the thread to white.
- 6 row: (4 sc, inc) * 6 (36)
- Change the thread to green.
- 7 row: (5 sc, inc) * 6 (42)
- Cut the thread, leaving a long end for sewing. White yarn embroider strips on a tummy-lime circle.
Tail
Knit with green yarn.
- 1 row: 6 sc in mc (6)
- 2 row: 6 sc (6)
- 3-5 row: 6 sc (6)
- 6 row: 6 inc (12)
- Cut the thread, leaving a long end for sewing.
Leaves (make two)
Knit with green yarn.
- 1 row: 10ch from the 2nd loop from the hook 3 Sl-st, 1 sc, Hdc, Dc, Dc, Dc, Hdc, 3 ch, on the back: Hdc, Dc, Dc, Dc, Hdc, 1 sc, 3 Sl-st.
Flower
Knit with white thread.
- 1 row: 6 sc in mc (6)
- 2 row: sc, 5 ch, from the 2nd loop from the hook 4 sc, sc to the base) * 6
You should get 6 petals. In the middle, we stretch the loops of orange thread. Fix it, you can glue so that the middle is not stretched out. Cut the thread. If the flower will be sewn, leave a long end. I glued a flower to my head with a gun, so fixed the thread and cut it.
Eyes (make two)
We knit with a thinner thread; you can use threads for knitting a mouline thread acrylic in two additions. Hook number 1. I used Alize Miss yarn (white and black colors). For the iris, I took green thread floss.
- We knit black yarn, hook number 1.
- 1 row: 6 sc in mc (6)
- 2 row: 6 inc (12)
- 3 row: (sc, inc) * 6 (18)
- Change the thread to green.
- 4 row: (2 sc, inc) * 6 (24)
- 5 row: (3 sc, inc) * 6 (30)
- Change the thread to white.
- 6 row: (4 sc, inc) * 6 (36)
- Cut the thread, leaving a long end for sewing. Embroider white flare flare.
Decor
Fix the ears with needles on the head so that they are symmetrical. Sew them on. Sew on the tummy, tail, leaves, and flower. The flower can be glued with a thermal gun.
Sew on eyes, embroider nose and mouth. Cut two small teeth from felt and stick them or sew them on.
Sew the wings with membranes inside. Wrap the ends of the wire with a band-aid and insert them into the middle of the bat’s body. Sew the wings carefully to the body.
