Amigurumi Plump Frogs Crochet Pattern


 

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors! I’m excited to share some free amigurumi patterns here. In this post, I’ll walk you through creating one pattern, and at the end, I’ll include a few pattern ideas to inspire you.

Materials and Tools

  • Himalaya Dolphin Baby Plush Yarn (Main yarn for frog toy)
  • Yarn Drops Safran/Worsted (for cheeks)
  • Thread for embroidery muzzle
  • Crochet hook
  • Eyes for toys
  • Filler for toys
  • Needle for sewing details
  • Scissors

Conventions

  • KA – amigurumi ring
  • νp – air loop
  • sс – single crochet
  • ssn – double crochet
  • pr – increase
  • ub – decrease
  • PSP – front wall of the loop
  • ΖSP – back wall of the loop
  • (…) хn – repeat n times

Frog Body

Fasten and cut the thread. Embroider a mouth in the shape of a tick on rows 5-6.

Cheeks (2 parts)

Using Yarn Drops Safran/Worsted:

You can also embroider with pink yarn or sew circles of felt.

Eyes (2 parts)

Fasten and cut the thread, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew eyes between rows 4-7. You can insert safety eyes or glue on wool felt.

Arms and Legs (4 parts)

Fasten and cut the thread, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew arms between rows 10-11.

Tummy

Using white color:

5 ch, in the 2nd from the hook: 1 sc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc2n, skip 3 loops, 1 sc in the next loop. Repeat 5 times.
Fasten and cut the thread, leaving a tail for sewing.

Strawberry Leaf

Using Yarn Drops Safran/Worsted Weight:
6 sc in KA (6)
(1 sc, ch 4, in the 2nd from the hook: 3 sc in ch, 1 sc in the next loop) x 6
Fasten and cut the thread, leaving a tail for sewing.

Fasten and cut the thread, leaving a tail for sewing between the eyes of the frog.

Strawberry

Using red yarn:

Fasten and cut the thread.

Strawberry Leaf

Using green yarn:

(sl-st, ch 3, 2nd from hook: sl-st, 1 sc) x 5
Fasten and cut the thread, leaving a tail for sewing.

Bag-Banana-Cream

6 sc in KA (6)
2-3. 6 sc (6)
yellow ZSP: 6 sc (6)
5-6. 6 sc (6)
Fasten and cut the thread. Insert the hook in the 4th row of the PSP in yellow: (4 ch, in the 2nd from the hook: 1 sc, 2 dc) x 2. Use brown for the strap.

If you want to make a sky frog, crochet the frog in blue and use white felt, cutting out cloud shapes to glue onto the body.
