If you enjoy making amigurumi, here is an easy and free pattern for you to follow. Your kids will love these cute toys!

Materials & Tools:

• 3.5 mm crochet hook (US E hook) or a size that fits your yarn
• Needle
• Stuffing
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• st = stitch
• sc = single crochet
• ch = chain
• sl st = slip stitch
• inc = increase
• dec = decrease
• ** = repeat instructions x times – or round out
• ( ) = the number in parentheses indicates the number of stitches at the end of the round

Notes:

• Do not join rounds, work in a continuous spiral.
• Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the end or beginning of a round. Move the marker up after completing each round.
• All stitches are worked into both loops, unless stated otherwise in the pattern.

Head (Color: Rosa):

• Round 1: sc 6 in magic ring (6 sts)
• Round 2: inc (12 sts)
• Round 3: sc 1, inc (18 sts)
• Round 4: sc 1, inc, sc 2, inc 5x, sc 1 (24 sts)
• Round 5: sc 3, inc (30 sts)
• Round 6: sc 2, inc, sc 4, inc 5x, sc 2 (36 sts)
• Round 7: sc 5, inc (42 sts)
• Round 8: sc 3, inc, sc 6, inc 5x, sc 3 (48 sts)
• Round 9-14: sc 1 in each stitch (48)
• Round 15: sc 3, dec, sc 6 5x, dec, sc 3 (42 sts)
• Round 16: dec, sc 5 (36 sts)
• Round 17: sc 2, dec, sc 4 5x, dec, sc 2 (30 sts)
• Round 18: dec, sc 3 (24 sts)
• Round 19: sc 5, dec, sc 10 1x, dec, sc 5 (22)
• Make 1 sl st – only in first stitch. Break yarn and leave enough yarn to sew the head in place later. Fill the head.

Eyes (Make 2):

• Starting with black:
• Round 1: sc 9 in magic ring (8)
• Color change to white:
• Round 2: inc (18 sts)
• Make 1 sl st – only in the first stitch. Break yarn and leave enough yarn to sew the eyes onto the head. You can sew the eyes on before you join the head to the body.

Legs:

Front Legs (Make 2, Color: Rosa):

• Round 1: sc 6 in magic ring (6 sts)
• Round 2: inc (12 sts)
• Round 3: sc 1, inc (18 sts)
• Round 4: sc 1, inc, sc 2, inc 5x, sc 1 (24 sts)
• Round 5: sc 3, inc (30 sts)
• Round 6: sc 2, inc, sc 4, inc 5x, sc 2 (36 sts)
• Round 7: sc 5, inc (42 sts)
• Round 8: sc 3, inc, sc 6, inc 5x, sc 3 (48 sts)
• Round 9: sc 7, inc (54)
• Fold the legs and make a half circle – crochet the two sides together with slip stitches (21 sts).
• Break yarn and leave enough yarn to sew the legs in place later. Pull the end through one leg.

Back Legs (Make 2, Color: Rosa):

• Round 1: sc 6 in magic ring (6 sts)
• Round 2: sc 2 in each stitch (12 sts)
• Round 3: sc 1, inc (18 sts)
• Round 4: sc 1, inc, sc 2, inc 5x, sc 1 (24 sts)
• Round 5: sc 3, inc (30 sts)
• Round 6: sc 2, inc, sc 4, inc 5x, sc 2 (36 sts)
• Round 7: sc 5, inc (42 sts)
• Break yarn and leave enough yarn to sew the legs in place later. Fold the legs and make a half circle – crochet the two sides together with slip stitches (21 sts).
• Pull the end through one leg.

Tail (Color: Rosa):

• Round 1: sc 3 in magic ring (3 sts)
• Round 2: sc 2 in each stitch (6 sts)
• Round 3: sc 1, inc (9 sts)
• Round 4-7: sc 1 in each stitch (9 sts)
• Make 1 sl st only in the first stitch. Break yarn and leave enough yarn to sew the tail in place later.

Shield (Color: Gray):

• Round 1: sc 6 in magic ring (6 sts)
• Round 2: sc 2 in each stitch (12 sts)
• Round 3: sc 2 in each stitch (24 sts)
• Round 4: sc 1, inc (36 sts)
• Round 5-6: sc 1 in each stitch (36 sts)
• Round 7: sc 2, inc (48 sts)
• Round 8-10: sc 1 in each stitch (48 sts)
• Round 11: sc 3, inc (60 sts)
• Round 12-13: sc 1 in each stitch (60 sts)
• Round 14: sc 4, inc (72 sts)
• Round 15-16: sc 1 in each stitch (72 sts)
• Round 17: sc 5, inc (84 sts)
• Round 18: sc 1 in each stitch (84 sts)
• Round 19: sc 77 in front loop only (77 sts)
• The last 7 stitches is where the head will be attached, so don’t work into those.
• Break yarn and weave in ends.

Stomach (Color: White):

• In the first round, work into all of the 84 stitches from Round 18 of the shield. Also work into the 7 stitches from Round 18 of the shield that we left unworked in Round 19, but work in back loop only.
• Round 1: sc 4, chain 7, skip 7 sts, sc 17, chain 5, skip 5 sts, sc 4, chain 3, skip 3 sts, sc 4, chain 5, skip 5 sts, sc 17, chain 7, skip 7 sts, sc 11 (84 sts)
• Round 2: sc 1 in each stitch (84 sts)
• Round 3: sc 5, dec, sc 10 6x, dec, sc 5 (77 sts)
• Round 4: dec, sc 9 (70 sts)
• Round 5: dec, sc 5 (60 sts)
• Round 6: dec, sc 8 (54 sts)
• Join legs and tail in the holes created in Round 1: tail in chain 3 space, back legs in chain 5 space, front legs in chain 7 space.

Continue the pattern with the same approach, adjusting the round instructions as necessary for shaping. When finished, sew the head in place.
