• Contrast A: Dark Linen (0350) – 3 balls
• Contrast B: Orchid Pink (0701) – 3 balls
• Contrast C: White (0001) – 2 balls
• Contrast D: Pale Pink (0710) – 3 balls

Size U.S. H/8 [5 mm] crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

Instructions

Note: To change color, work to last 2 loops on hook and draw new color through last 2 loops, then proceed in new color. Do not cut yarn. Carry color not in use along side edge of work.

Blanket

With A, ch 120.

1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). 1 dc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 118 dc.

2nd row: Ch 1. 1 hdcbl in each st to end of row. Join B. Turn. 118 hdc.

3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 2 hdc. *Ch 2. Skip next 2 hdc. 1 sc in each of next 2 hdc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn. 60 sc and 29 ch-2 sps.

4th row: Beg dc2tog. *Ch 1. 4-dc Cl in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Dc2tog. Rep from * to end of row. Join C. Turn. 30 dc2tog and 29 4-dc Cls.

5th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first dc2tog. *Ch 1. 1 sc in next 4-dc Cl. Ch 1. 1 sc in next dc2tog. Rep from * to end of row. Turn. 59 sc and 58 ch-1 sps.

6th row: Beg V-st. V-st in each sc to end of row. Join D. Turn. 59 V-sts.

9th row: Ch 3. Shell in each ch-4 sp to last sc. 1 dc in last sc. Turn. 29 shells.

10th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first dc. Ch 2. 1 sc in ch-2 sp of first shell. *Ch 2. 1 sc in first dc of next shell. Ch 2. 1 sc in ch-2 sp of same shell. Rep from * to end of row. 1 sc in top of ch-3. Join B. Turn. 59 sc.

11th row: Beg V-st. V-st in each sc to end of row. Turn. 59 V-sts.

12th row: Ch 3. 1 dc in ch-1 sp of first V-st. 2 dc in ch-1 sp of each V-st to last V-st. 1 dc in ch-1 sp of last V-st. 1 dc in 3rd ch of ch-4 of beg V-st. Join C. Turn. 118 sts.

13th row: Ch 3. Working in back loops only, 1 dc in each st to end of row. Turn.

14th row: As 2nd row. Join D.

Keeping continuity of Stripe Pat, proceed as follows:

15th to 72nd rows: As 3rd to 14th rows 4 times more, then 3rd to 12th rows once.

Fasten off.

Border

1st Round

With RS facing, join A with sl st in last st. Ch 1. 3 hdc in same sp as sl st (corner made).

Work 153 hdc spaced evenly down left side of Blanket. 3 hdc in corner. 1 hdc in each ch across foundation ch to next corner. 3 hdc in corner.

Work 153 hdc spaced evenly up right side of Blanket. 3 hdc in corner. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of rnd.

Join with sl st in first hdc. Fasten off.

2nd Round

Join D with sl st in center hdc of any corner. Ch 3. 1 dc in same sp as sl st.

*Ch 2. Skip next hdc. 1 sc in next hdc. Ch 2. Sl st in next hdc. 2 dc in next hdc. Rep from * around to last 2 hdc.

Skip next hdc. Ch 2. Join with sl st in top of ch-3.

Fasten off.
