• Susan Bates yarn needle.

1st row: (WS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next ch. *Ch 3. Skip next 3 ch. 1 sc in each of next of 3 ch. Rep from * to last 5 ch. Ch 3. Skip next 3 ch. 1 sc in each of last 2 ch. Turn.

2nd row: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *7 dc in next ch-3 sp. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and ch-1 sp). Skip next 2 sts. 1 sc in each of next 3 dc. *Ch 3. Skip next 5 sts. 1 sc in each of next 3 sts. Rep from * to last 3 sts. Ch 1. Skip next 2 sts. 1 dc in last st. Turn.

4th row: Ch 2 (does not count as st). 4 dc in first ch-1 sp. *Skip next sc. 1 sc in next st. 7 dc in next ch-3 sp. Rep from * to end of row, ending final rep with 4 dc in last ch-1 sp. Turn.
