Body
- 6 sbn in KA
- 6 pr (12)
- (1 sbn, pr) x 6 (18)
- 18 sbn (18) – repeat rows 4-9
- (sbn, ub) x 6 (12)
- 12 sbn – repeat rows 11-12
- (2 sbn, ub) x 3 (9)
Hugo’s body is ready, the thread is not cut!!! The head is knitted directly on the body. The transition from the torso to the head should be very tightly packed so that the head does not sway later.
Head
- (2 sc, inc) x 3 (12)
- 6 inc (24)
- (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
- 30 sc – repeat rows 4-10
- (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
- (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
- (sc, dec) x 6 (12)
- 6 dec (6)
Important! Between the 8th and 9th rows, attach safety eyes 3 stitches between them. Fill well with filler. Leave the thread for sewing, pull off all the loops, then fasten the thread and hide it inside the head. The body and head are ready.
Muzzle
Knitting in terracotta color:
- 6 sbn in KA
- 6 pr (12)
- (1 sbn, pr) x 6 (18)
- (6 sbn, pr) x 3 (21)
- 21 sbn
- (5 sbn, ub) x 3 (18)
Leave a fairly long thread as it is used for sewing. Stuff the muzzle a little, pin it tightly under the eyes with pins, and sew it on to make it all nicely even. When sewing, replenish with filler, but not too tight, so that the muzzle can be drawn in later.
Before embroidering the nose and eyebrows, the ears are first sewn on.
Ears (2 Parts)
Terracotta color:
- 7 sbn in KA
- 7 pr (14)
- 14 sbn – repeat rows 3-5
- ub, 5 sbn, ub, 5 sbn (12)
- 12 sbn – repeat rows 7-8
- unk, 10 sbn (11)
- 11 sbn
- unk, 9 sbn (10)
Fold the ear in half and connect the edges of 5 sc. Cut the thread, leaving a long enough end to sew the ear to the head. Pin the ears to the head with pins (about 2 rows above eye level) and check again that they sit parallel and have the correct height for your personal taste – then sew.
Now we embroider Hugo’s nose. It is quite thick and large, we sew from left to right with horizontal stitches. Then we pierce in the middle under the nose and pull the thread down (the thread is on the muzzle), pull the thread a little in order to add shape to the muzzle. Embroider the eyebrows with the same thread and Hugo’s cute face is ready.
Arms and Legs (4 Parts)
Hands and feet are crocheted the same way! Crochet in beige and red.
- 5 sbn in KA
- 5 pr (10)
- 10 sbn – repeat rows 3-5
- 5 ub (5)
Take the remaining columns and pull together. Cut the thread very long (it is used for chaining and for sewing). Now bring the thread to the upper part of the arm/leg with a knitting needle, take the hook, make 7-8 ch. Make each arm and leg in the same way (4 in total).
The arms are sewn to the body with a blunt needle in the last row, exactly at the transition from the torso to the head. Pierce to the opposite side (1.) above the stitch (2.) return to the hand (chain), pierce through the upper part (3.) Now prick again in the opposite direction and fasten the thread. (4.) Repeat all of this on the other side.
Now we sew the legs. They are sewn on in the same way as the arms (4 steps, as above), only they are pierced not from the side, but from behind.
Tail
Knitting in terracotta color:
- 6 ch
- From 3 loops from the hook: 2 sc, 2 pss
The little tail curls up slightly, as it should. Now we try on the tail on the body in the center of the back above the legs, between the 4th and 5th row from the bottom. Secure the tail with pins and sew it tight.
Now you can attach the keychain to the top of your head. In addition, you can crochet some chain of any length and sew it to the head at both ends, resulting in a loop. Now your cute Hugo is ready ☺ I wish you a lot of joy with your cute dog.
