Dog Free Amigurumi Pattern

I wanted to share some free amigurumi patterns with you here. In this article, I will share one pattern and explain how to make it. At the end, you'll find additional amigurumi patterns that may inspire you.

Pattern Details

• Skill Level: Beginner
• Crochet Hook: 2.50 mm
• Measurements: Approx. 37 cm (14.5 inches)
• Materials: A small piece of black scrap yarn for the eyebrows, 2 safety eyes (6 mm), stuffing
• Yarn: Rainbow Cotton 8/4
• Grey Brown (#005) – 2 skeins
• Nude (#003) – 1 skein
• Silver Grey (#014) – 1 skein
• Baby Blue (#032) – 1 skein

Abbreviations

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• mr = magic ring
• hdc = half double crochet
• hdc inc = increase in half double crochets
• inc = increase
• dec = decrease
• rnd = round(s)
• (xx) = Number of stitches after the round

Info and Tips

• Always stuff the head and body firmly.
• Stuff between the head and body as you sew the head on to avoid a wobbly head.
• Work tightly to avoid holes between the stitches.
• All pieces are worked in the round.

Fasten off and leave a tail long enough for closing the hole. Use a needle to gather the last 9 stitches in the front loop and tighten the yarn to close the hole. Weave in ends.

Assembling

• Stuff the body and head firmly.
• Pull the sweatshirt down over the body.
• Insert the arms into the armhole and sew them on the 2nd round from the top of the body.
• Sew the head onto the body at the color change between muzzle and head.
• Sew the ears onto the head from rnd 20-25 with 10 sc in between.
• Stuff the snout and sew it onto the head from rnd 1-9.
• Embroider the eyebrows diagonally on the head just above the eyes.
• Sew the legs onto the body on rnds 5-10.
• Sew the tail in the middle of the backside.
